Wellness Breaks

Wellness breaks have become fashionable but the good news is that at Millbrook our breaks have always catered for Wellness and Romance. It's difficult not to relax when you are among 32 acres or gorgeous North Devon countryside, with beautiful grounds, flower gardens, meadows and woodland. Your senses will be overwhelmed by the sounds of birds singing, the brook babbling along and the stillness of the countryside. The whole ethos of Millbrook is rejuvenation, from the moment you enter the Estate you will feel your stress levels reduce. Surrounded by natural beauty Millbrook is a true escape, allowing you the time and space to completely switch off and unwind. We encourage you to explore the grounds, have a BBQ near the middle lake (enjoy our BBQ house in the woods all year round) or just relax in the Hot Tub.

Wellness Breaks in Devon

Hot Tub

Our very own Hot Tub in the woods is the perfect location to relax in the bubbles whilst listening to your favourite music (or just the birds in the woods). Check out more information on our Hot tub Page

Although Millbrook offers two beautiful fishing lakes (one fly, one coarse) we only welcome guests staying at Millbrook to fish. The location is so perfectly tranquil and the ideal place for novice and seasoned fisherman to relax and enjoy some fishing. See our fishing page for more information.

Wellness Treatments

Cathy offers luxury wellness treatments in our very own Pamper Room here on site on the Estate. See our Pamper Room page for more information

Wild Swimming

Wild Swimming

If you like to swim under a blue sky with no barriers, no chlorine and no limits then this is for you! Our middle lake is perfect for wild swimming!

Bob enjoys swimming in our middle lake - it is done so at your own risk, never unaccompanied and we recommend a wet suit and swimming shoes.

And not forgetting

There is simply too many things to list! A few of our favourites are star gazing at the middle lake (very low light pollution and amazing skies) and taking the rowing boat out for a spin for a lazy bit of sun bathing around the islands.

Indulge yourself by ordering a romantic picnic, pick a spot and just watch the world go by (we have many secluded areas around the meadows and woodlands which you can totally make your own).

Tarka Trail

This safe, traffic free trail is popular with experienced cyclists and families alike. It runs along the disused railway line which has the benefit of being relatively flat with only small uphill and downhill gradients. The railway line at Torrington stopped providing passenger services in 1965, though it continued carrying goods until closure in 1982. The trail runs alongside the River Torridge which inspired Henry Williamson to write Tarka the Otter. As you travel through this beautiful area of North Devon you may spot Deer, Rabbits, Squirrels, Otters, Kingfishers, Salmon and many other species of birds, wildlife and flowers. The nearest part of the trail to Millbrook is at Torrington where you can hire mountain bicycles, tandems, buggies and tagalongs from Torrington Bicycle Hire
