The Old George - High Bickington (01769 560513)

The pub is very local and only a 10 minute walk from the cottages (unfortunately it is uphill there, but at least its down hill on the way back!!). The pub serves food every lunch time and evening, serving times are 12 -2 and 6.30 - 9.30 (9.00) on Sundays during the winter and 12 - 9 during the summer. It is advisable to book for Sunday lunch. The old George serves real Ales, changed regularly and great food, they allow dogs and children and also accept credit cards.

The Golden Lion - High Bickington (01769 560213)

The second pub in the village. We are quite lucky in High Bickington with two pubs. A friendly atmosphere with good pub grub. You can even get your hair cut at this pub! Located on the main road through the village. Food served daily except Tuesdays when the pub is closed. Take Aways also available

Weirmarsh Farm Restaurant - Umberleigh (01769 560338)

This comes highly recommended but you will have to book a long time in advance! The restaurant is run by a family and is around a 5 minute drive from Millbrook. It is only open on Friday and Saturday evening and you will be sent a menu to choose from before the evening. The meal costs around £24 for 4 courses and wine and drinks are very reasonably priced.

The Duke of York - Iddesleigh (01837 810253)

Made famous from the BBC TV series "Down to Earth" The Duke of York, know as The Black Bull in the TV series is very foody and sells beer from the barrel behind the bar. The Sunday lunch is very nice and needs to be booked in advance for the restaurant, or if you are lucky you can get a table in the pub which are not reserved. The Duke of York is around a 20 minute drive from Millbrook.

The Cranford Inn - St Giles in the Wood (01805 623309 )

Again a very nice food style pub with real ales. Around a 5 minute drive, the old farm has been converted into the pub and restaurant and has previously won awards.
