Fly Fishing Lake
A 1/3rd acre trout pond which is fly fishing only, stocked with brown and rainbow trout fish. Catch and release generally but rainbow trout can be taken by agreement for the barbeque at a replacement cost charge (£2.75 per lb) light rod only required 4/5/6 weight with nymphs or sometimes dry fly. Tuition available for beginners by arrangement c/w tackle.
Coarse Lake
Approx 2 Acre lake with two islands stocked with carp to 20lbs, Tench to 4lbs and Rudd to 1lb plus .Greatly under fished with no established catch method. Depths up to about 8-10 feet at the dam end, many overhanging trees in a beautiful setting. Boat available on the lake – at own risk! , Three wooden fishing platforms. Water generally quite clear More carp shortly to be introduced. Fishing methods not restricted but barbless hooks, good practice and unhooking mats suggested. Night fishing is allowed for guests staying at Millbrook. This lake has been greatly under fished and is a challenge for a good fisherman to make his mark by catching some of the larger carp that can be seen cruising but are not easy to take. Baits--Both-- natural maggots/worms to pellets sweetcorn boilies and floating baits.
Fishing rules and regulations
Barbed hooks are not allowed under any circumstances.
No keep nets, and unhooking mats are required.
