Millbrook's' Animals
Alpacas - We currently have 8 alpacas, the youngest was born in July 2010 (see blog), we also have 1 from June 2010 and three on the way. They are very friendly animals who will eat from your hand, although not let you touch them, and unlike lamas they do not spit at you. Alpacas are kept for wool as alpaca wool is one of the best that you can get. We sell Alpaca socks made from UK Alpaca Wool, so you can try for yourself!
Ducks - We have 2 indian runner ducks that stand tall and run in a group, they are great to watch. We also hatch and sell ducklings during the spring and summer months. We have a group of wild mallards that love Millbrooks lakes.
Chickens - We several hens who are great layers all year round. We have a tradional devon red (resuced from the battery farm), a black cochin and a Welshsummer, They love to be fed; prawn crackers especially! They are completely free range and roam around Millbrook by day, at night they go to bed to be safe from Mr Fox. If you would like to taste real free range eggs, let us know and if we have any spare we can let you have some.
